How to Join the Art of Democracy Effort

First and foremost – there are no fees for joining the Art of Democracy exhibition collaboration. It is simple to join the Art of Democracy, just let us know.

To participate please contact us by email or and tell us what you'd like to do in terms of an exhibition of politically and socially charged artwork. As plans clarify, participating organizations will provide the national organizers with details about the show: web-links, venue, dates, artists, openings, any statement of purpose as well as images of the work. In order to maximize the public interest in these shows, every participant should advertise their show as part of the national Art of Democracy coalition. They are encouraged to use the Art of Democracy logo and to exchange posters with the other groups.

Collaborative Goals

  1. The exchange, whenever practical, for exhibition purposes of at least one work of art per collaborating organization with each of the other groups.
  2. The publishing of an Art of Democracy poster, by each group, for their local use and exchange with the other groups. Depending upon the potential availability or costs involved, the exchanged posters may be publicly exhibited, sold for fundraising purposes, or otherwise distributed at the discretion of each individual group. Each poster shall have the use, free of charge, of the Art of Democracy Logo developed by New York artist/illustrator and activist Frances Jetter. See poster guidelines
